Good Bye Jim....

Today is the day my little brother moves away for university...... I have bitter sweet feelings today. Bitter: I'm going to miss him and all his silliness like crazy! Sweet: I'm excited for the new adventure he's about to take! And the empty bedroom is being turned into a sewing crafting room!
I remember the day I moved away, (I didn't go to university, I did a discipleship training school through YWAM. youth.with.a.mission.) after I was done packing up my car and getting ready to drive away James and Garret both ran outside gave me hugs, said good bye, and we all shed a few tears. As I drove away they ran done the street chasing my car yelling "Get out of here already!" haha silly boys
I don't think there will be any tears today, as my mom and I are bringing up the rest of his stuff to him tomorrow. But saying goodbye on Saturday I will most likely cry.

Oh Jim..... I shall miss our late nights watching silent films, the times you would come into the store to hang out, playing apples to apples, how you let me tag along with you to the gym because I'm too shy to go by myself, watching serial killer documentaries, but most of all I'm going to miss having my little brother, and friend around all the time. I love you and I'm so excited for you!!!!

A Post of No Importance

Today my brain feels like scrambled eggs. I think it's due to the mixture of lack of sleep, stress, and only having one cup of coffee today. So you're getting a wee bit of a random post...
First, I made a new ring/bracelet thing today. I used this DIY from Honestly WTF.

Second, Home made hot pockets just might be my new favorite thing to make.
I use this recipe. Found via pinterest.

And third, I am in LOVE with this table my mom just made.
She's awesome.

The End.

Cute Cut-Offs... DIY

I was on Pintrest on Wednesday morning and came across these cute cut-offs with lace on the bottom and I knew that I had to make myself some. While I was out thrifting with Dani that afternoon I found some white and pink lace trim for $0.50 it was a sign that I needed to make these shorts!(haha not really but I was super happy to find some:)  After I got home from the races that night I couldn't wait any longer to make them, so I got everything ready and went to work.
I had an old pair of jeans that were too short, but other than that still fit. Perfect for cut-offs!
I figured out how short I wanted them, folded the pants in half and cut. (I left an extra inch or two longer when I cut them)

Put them on and fold them to the right length. I used a marker to draw a line where to cut them.

Fold them inside out and line up your marks, and cut.

Get your lace ready.

I hand stitched the lace around the inside (I would have used a sewing machine but mine is with my mother right now.) I used a dark navy thread so it wouldn't show very much on the outside.

And your done! Now set up your self timer and take photos while you pray no one walks into your shop....
OK you can skip that last one if you like, but if you do make some share your photos I'd love to see how others turn out!! :)

More photos....

Since I didn't take and photos last night I've stolen some from Haley to share with you guys! Enjoy.
Haley and I

Evan, Haley, and Kyle.
Yay for photos! Haha well that's it for my random little post. Bye...

What I Wore...

Yesterday was a jam packed day! I worked, took a break for thrifting, went down to Noonan ND for supper, and went to the races. I love filling my days full of mini adventures, spending time with friends, and making the most of what's left of summer!

Dress: Wet Seal
Skirt: Wet Seal
Necklace: gifted from Dani
Earring: made by me
Bracelets: Dollarama (?) I forget where I got them haha but they were gold so spray painted them blue.

The dress was just a little too short for my liking so I layered it with another skirt underneath :)

I also did a quick wardrobe change before we headed out for supper.
...I think this was the first time I've had a photo taken in front of the shop...

After the races there was fireworks, it was the perfect way to finish off the night.

And finally I just have to share some of the amazing fabrics I got  yesterday!! :)

I think this one will make a beautiful fall skirt.

Tomorrow I'll be posting a DIY using this lovely lace trim :) But if you can't wait until tomorrow and want a project to do today check out Dani's KnottyT-Shirt Necklace!
Have a wonderful Thursday!! ~ J.

I'm just taking a quick break from paper work to say hello and to share a possible new head band design.
