A Little Taste of England

A "Dani" Post
As Jordyn mentioned in her "secrets post" underneath here, i am currently in England, and today is the big day. Today marks the day that i will grab a shopping basket and start grabbing a lot of awesome english gems to bring back for My Sisters Closet.

I love to shop back in England, with it being my home country and getting to see the fashion and style that is so easily at my fingertips right now, how could i not bring some back for you all?? A chance for you to have that at your fingertips!!!

I will post a few sneek peeks when i get back tonight, but until then send me some comments on this post to let me know what you would like to see coming back from england?

Do you like a little hippy chic, or are you into the floral vintage? Do you like a bit of smart glam to fancy up a night out or some boho casual to jazz up a little walmart shopping?

Let me know and you could end up finding a little taste of britain hanging in your closet, (or your sisters closet - hehe) courtesy of MY SISTERS CLOSET!!!

Ill speak to you soon, gotta find my wellies and brollie (translation: rubber boots, and umbrella), as it has become a typical english day as the rain pours!

Just a Few Secrets....

Today we have decided to let you in on a few secrets that we've been keeping for awhile.
Secret #1   in the New Year we will be accepting children’s clothes!!! We haven't picked a set date yet but, we are very excited to start taking them and will let you guys know as soon as we have the date picked.
Secret #2 right now Dani is in England ( Dani is one of my dear friends and a huge part to the store ) and she is doing a little shopping for us while she is over there! I'm VERY excited to see what little surprises she brings back for us. Hopefully she will drop us a few hints of what she's bringing back.
Well I guess those are the only secrets that I have for all of you on this chilly Friday. I hope you all have a safe and fantastic weekend!

DIY:: Unique Invitations

Last night while messing around with my craft stuff I decided I would attempt to make some paper flowers. They turned out better than I thought they would! So I decided to try to incorporate them into the invitations I was making for the stores Christmas party. I think they're pretty cute and unique so if anyone else wants to attempt them here is how I did them.    Enjoy!
Supplies:
Scissors, an old book, hot glue gun.
Step 1:
Start off with an old book. (Sorry to all the book lovers out there!)

Step 2:
Cut down the middle of the pages to make the top of the petals.

Step 3:
Once cut, scrunch them up to give them texture.

Step 4:
Pinch together at the bottom an staple to hold shape. ( Make however many of these you want depending on what size you want your flowers to be.)

Step 5:
Glue your petals together and shape them. ( you can do this however you want to make the design/size of flowers you want.) You can use whatever you want for the center of your flower. (I used string, buttons, and in a few I even rolled up another page from the book into a ball.)

Step 6:
Roll a piece of paper and glue it to make a stem. Than glue your stem to the back of your flower.
Once you have done that you’ll have a unique flower that you can tie an invite to. For my invitations I’m using antique looking postcards that I picked up at Hobby Lobby, and I just wrote my invites out on the back of them.

Hope you enjoy!!

"Dress Up"

As I was randomly looking stuff up online this morning a came across an article talking about International Suit Up Day that happened on October 13th. The day was based around a line on the TV show “ How I Met Your Mother “ where Barney Stinson ( a character on the show ) will tell the other guys it’s time to Suit Up. Meaning he wants them to wear a suit out. I find it humorous that they had a Suit Up day this year, but yet not fair to the Ladies. So in my head I decided next year on Suit Up day I’m going to change it to “Dress Up Day” so I can participate but wear a cute dress instead of a suit. So once I got into the store this morning I picked out a few dresses that would work great for Dress Up Day, or any other occasion :)
