10 things i love :: GUEST POST::

10 things i love :: GUEST POST Dani from 12StoneDance

I get the pleasure of doing another guest post here at My Sister's Closet! I must apologise though, as i was supposed to have it done on friday, but while away in moose jaw, i found the place we were staying at had no internet. So its 9.51pm, and i am finally home and ready to share with you TEN THINGS I LOVE!
Jordyn usally shares a ten things i love... every friday, so hence why this post is what it is! enjoy!

TEN THING I LOVE....

1. MY GRANDMA
It has to be my Grandma. Cheesy beginning i know, but it had to be said. She was not your average grandma. She would dance to the spice girls with us, she would do cartwheels down the living room. One of our favourite games to play together was the "malteser game", where you had to get as many malteser candies from one bowl to another only using a straw... best part was eating them after!

She is that much of my favourite person that when i was little i would tell her, "Grandma, when i get married i want you to be one of my bridesmaids". Her response was always "just wait till your older, you won't want some old woman walking down the aisle as your bridesmaid".

Well i proved her wrong, on April 25th 2009 when i married my husband, my grandma walked down as honorary bridesmaid (escorted by one of our fave guys quincy).

2. LIONEL RICHIE
The man is a legend, and i saw him in concert a few years back and pretty much cried and screamed through the whole thing! I love his voice... fave song by him... stuck on you and three times a lady
3.OWLS
I am obsessed with owls. Before they were all over the place and became fashionable, i found an owl necklace in the Philippines and ever since i have been hooked.
i have owl jugs, owl jewellery, owl t-shirts, owl journals... its a little crazy but im in love... what can i say?!

4. PINK
It not something i boast about and i tried to deny it to myself for years, but i am a pink lover. I do not like very many pink clothing items, but i love the colour. I love when its that bright magenta pink or when its a lovely fluffy baby pink.

5. ADULT ONSIES
Seriously one of the best items i own is my pink adult onsie that my sister bought me for christmas this years, it simply is the coolest idea ever!
Not just for babies... :)

6. Thrift store shopping
Oh gosh do i ever love thrift shopping! Just the thrill of it, finding something that someone deemed trash, and then i get the fun of transforming it, restoring it, or just seeing something more in it that it first appeared! I could talk forever on thrifting, bu t not only that my husband and i have been on a mission for nearly two years to try and live more simply and buy from places that contribute to a worthy cause and don't buy new if you dont need to! Thats my excuse and im sticking with it :)
7. PHOTOGRAPHY
I am one of those people that hate to be in front of the camera, but i love to be behind it! There is nothing that cannot be made beautiful when captured by a careful looking eye. There is no one that does not behold beauty in some way!
I remember standing in a garbage dump in the philippines, as we visited families that actually lived on the dump site. they would wade through storey high heaps of junk. Ten year old boys carrying tons garbage bags full of recyclables on theirs heads with no shoes on... and in amongst it all i peeked through a destroyed mattress spring and there was a little girl standing there. There was nothing beautiful in the worlds eyes, but i knew that God saw this little girl as beautiful.
I took her picture and its still one of my favourites from that trip.

8. The Philippines
My husband and I went off to the Philippines on a mission trip from January - May 2010. It was one of the most life changing, amazing, hard, emotional times of my life. We loved every minute. Our world view was shattered in the blink of an eye, and i love that the way we view life is so different than before. The Filipino people are the best. So kind and welcoming. In the squatters they would give you the clothes off there back if you needed it, even though they had nothing. This picture beside is of one of the women that i had a special bond with - Joy.

9. Being british

Some days it gets annoying that people point out that i sound different from everyone else, or that they sometimes dont know what im talking about, but for the most part i love being british. I love the traditions i have because of it, the culture and history of being english, and i like that we have things that distinguish us as a country! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN :)

10. Dog the Bounty Hunter
Ok, if you havent seen it, switched on the TV and head over to the A&E channel. You cant do anything but love a guy who is at least in his fifties, has long blonde hair, with flipped up bangs, wears his shirt open with his police badge showing. He may not be perfect but you can tell he loves God and the job he was obviously created to do.... less swearing please Dog, and that would make this show perfection! I hope to meet him one day :)

Thank you so much for having me for this guest blog. Its a full one, i do love to write!
Stop in at the store this week to find some sweet deals and wear YOUR heart on your sleeve... literally!
Love dani
