Bonjour, I thought I'd share my outfit from yesterday. It was a lovely, sunny, hot, super day! I had some great ladies come and spend the afternoon with me at the store (took a quick thrifting/ice coffee break), went to the races, and finished off the night by sitting outside eating watermelon and watching the crazy lightning. Not to shabby for a Wednesday :) Now today I'm starting to reorganize the front of the store, and make some new necklaces!  I hope you all have a fabulous long weekend!!! ~ J.

Summer Goals

I can't believe that it's almost July!! That is just crazy! I had SO many goals for summer, and alas it's here already! But I've decided to share some of these goals today (maybe having others read them will give me an extra kick to get them done)

1. I want to reorganize the lay out of the store, and make a "coffee" area up from. I want to make the sitting area out of pallets (like the photo below.)
2. I'm going to be making some changes to Le Blog. I would like to do more DIY, outfit, and guest posts. Plus I'd like to start doing give aways once we get more readers.
3. Open up an etsy account.
4. and the last one is a surprise until later this summer :)

But now I'm off to do some running around (well as soon as the big truck that's blocking me in moves....)

So this blog started off just for the store, but i found out that it's rather hard to blog about the store everyday. So slowly it has started to become more of a personal blog rather than a business one. And I would like to keep it going in this direction (obviously there will still be a TON of stuff about the store on here because it's a huge part of my life right now) so with that being said I've also realized that I haven't really introduced myself a whole lot on here...... until now :) Here is a little A - Z about me! enjoy.

Fireflies

Does anyone else notice the ridiculous amount of fireflies that are out this year? Or is it just me? I spent a good hour last night out in the yard ( when I say yard I mean a field on the acreage ) just watching tons of these little beautiful lights flying around. Than I remembered that they are bugs and was slightly grossed out. But oh.my.goodness. do they look pretty from far away! I hope they stick around because watching fireflies and stargazing all summer would be magical! ~J.

Something Sweet

Happy Monday everyone!! I was going to do a weekend wrap up post today but sadly my camera was dead this weekend so I didn't get any photos taken :( BOO. So in lieu of photos I've decided to share a super simple summer treat. S'more Cupcakes!!

So for the cupcakes I just use a chocolate cake mix.

The icing is:

1 Jar of Marshmallow Creme

1/2 cup of butter (softened)

2 cups of powdered sugar

1 to 2 Tsp of milk ( add as much as you need to make it as thick or thin as you want )

I mix them all together and refrigerate it so it's not so runny.

After I pipe on the icing I sprinkle some crushed up gram crackers on the top and put a piece of chocolate on top.

And looky there you're done! They look cute and taste great!

Wednesday Night { in photos }

I secretly LOVE the fair! I don't go on rides or anything but I'm in love with all the colors and lights at night (silly? maybe..) Plus I look forward to the food all year! ( I may need a more exciting life if I look forward to fair food...) But it was fun just to walk around with friends last night, taking photos, and eating.

And than this morning my dad saved a bunny that was caught in a sink hole. It was so CUTE!! Look at those huge eyes!

Please just ignore my messy, messy hair/no make-up. I really wanted to feed it :)

Great Food

If you're in Estevan I highly recommend you check out Baba's Bistro (Suite 2-1210 7th St) It's a nice little change for Estevan.

Speaking of food, is anyone else dying for fair food??? Or is it just me? I don't care much for the rides here, the only reason I go the fair is for food, and to take photos :)

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday night was spent being silly at the store. Saturday we had a photo shoot done for the store (so we can make postcards and what not for advertising) and it was great!! THANK YOU again to Dani for taking the photos!!! :) Plus we got to go in to an old hotel, and I might have fallen in love with it! And Sunday was spent hanging out with my family and storm watching. I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. ~ J.

Father's Day!

I just want to make a quick shout out to my dad, cause he's kinda great. :)

In my eyes my dad is a living breathing example of John 15:13 ("Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.") He's a police officer and every time he puts on his uniform he's potentially putting his life on the line to help complete strangers. He's the one who taught me how to drive, how to fish & hunt, how to play baseball, how to shoot a bow, skip rocks, how to pray, and how to put others needs before my own. Plus on top of everything he's the funniest and most out going person I know. The photo above was taken back in 09 while we were staying in Vancouver {dad was shooting archery in the World Police Fire Games which is pretty much the Olympics for police officers and fire fighters} we spent a day at Playland and some how he convinced me to get in this vest, get attached to a line with him, pulled up 100ft, so he could pull the rip cord and let us free fall..... But I knew that with him up there beside me (laughing at me because I was SCREAMING my lungs out) that I could do it :)

So Happy Father's Day Pops!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Hair Tutorial

So awhile back on a Beautiful Mess (an amazing blog!) they did this super amazing hair tutorial ( http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/03/how-to-style-maiden-braids-.html ) But when I tried to do it I soon realized that 1. My hair isn't long enough and 2. With my hair being so thin this just wasn't going to work for me. I was slightly heart broken because I love braids. Any ways fast forward to yesterday, I was browsing through Dollarama when I came across these huge clip in hair extensions.  I had a light bulb moment and now I'm going to share it with you guys! (because there has to be others out there who struggle with thin hair)

1. I bought an extension that was close to my hair color.(only $2)

2. Took a section and tied a piece of fabric at the top.

3. I put hot glue on the hair above the fabric. And wrapped the fabric around, and tied it again(over the glue)

4. I braided the section

5. I tied and glued  fabric around the bottom to finish it off.

6. Cut it off from the clip and your ready to go! ( I made 2 )

7. Pin them in your hair, style, and your ready to go!
