Stitch by Stitch

This past week I've been sewing my little heart out. Not for any special reason, other than I think I'm addicted to sewing. I love making patterns up, trying them out, and hoping they work :) These are just a few of the items I've made this week. ( it would take me to long to put up all the ones I've made this week... Last night alone I made 3 skirts. Like I said, I'm addicted!)
I need to touch up my hems on this one, but it's one of my favourites so far.

I'm not a big pink/purple girl, and honestly I wouldn't wear this one  but it does look cute on with jean shorts. ( I had left over material so I decided to try it out )

I'm sorry the photos aren't the best quality. I took them after midnight last night so my lighting sucked. (Darn iced coffee had me wired, and staying up silly late.)

I also attempted a fishtail braid for the first time ever last night!
Pie N' The Sky has an awesome video tutorial that you should check out if you wanna learn!

I added extensions before I started....

It's a wee bit messy but not to shabby for my first attempt!

So I did it again this morning! I love it, and it's super simple once you get the hang of it!

And finally a little outfit photo. :) I'm wearing one of the skirts I made, and a top from the store. I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday and long weekend!! ~ J.

Tunes for Thursday

I don't know what it is about summer, but it makes my love for country music increase by 100%. It's pretty much the only thing that gets played in the store, in my car, and in my room while I'm getting ready. So if you aren't a fan of country I'm sorry because these 2 songs are country songs. The first it Keith Urban's Long Hot Summer, and second is Jake Owen's Barefoot Blue Jean Night.

This video makes me want to grab my bikini, get on a boat, spend all day out in the sun, and have a fire on the beach that night.... Now I may spend a good chunk of my day, daydreaming about a day like that. ~ J.

Birds of a Feather....

Today I'm going to share how I made the Feather Cupcake Toppers for my birthday. They are sooo cute, and super simple to make!

You'll need Feathers (I got mine a Dollarama. Make sure the plastic at the bottom is thick, and will be hollow when you cut it). Toothpicks. Hot glue gun. And scissors.

Cut part of the bottom off the feather.

it should be hollow on the inside.

Put a little bit of hot glue on the end of a toothpick.

And put the toothpick inside of your feather. Done.
See aren't those super simple!

Weekend Wrap Up

Why hello! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!! Mine was spent spending time with my great friends, eating left over birthday cake (2 nights in a row!), and spending all of yesterday out in the sun/boating/swimming/getting a sunburn. It was a top notch weekend, but sadly I didn't take any photos.
So instead of having fun and exciting photos to show you guys I'll show you my new camera! I treated myself on Friday to a birthday gift ( a total of $2 was spent on it ) this lovely little Minolta. I'm addicted to film all of the sudden. I love how unpredictable it is. Don't get me wrong I still love my digital camera, but there isn't that much excitement to it ( I can take multiple photos, preview them, and delete the ones I don't like. ) Where with film I better make sure everything is perfect before I take the the photo because I can't just go back and delete it if it isn't perfect. And the excitement of waiting for them to develop. Plus its a bonus to have the actual photo, with digital I don't get them printed off very often. So now I have this little guy with me and I can't wait to get the photos developed!! I may just share them with you guys if they turn out :)

I also love disposable cameras, there are tons of things you can do with them. For a few ideas check out here.
I hope you all have a fantastic Monday!! ~ J.

Busy Bee...

I must apologise for my lack of posts over the past few days. It was my birthday on Thursday, so all I could think about this week was making cupcakes, decorating, and spending time with family and friends :)

Raspberry  Filled Vanilla Cupcakes. I used this recipe.

Pink Lemonade Cupcakes. Recipe from here.

It was a great day. I am BEYOND blessed to have such amazing people in my life :) Thank you to everyone who made my birthday so wonderful! ~ J.

Necklace Project ~ Liv ~

I'm soooooo happy to share with you guys the next post for the Necklace Project! :) I know it seems like FOREVER since the last one (with Canada Post being on strike it got held up in mail for a bit) but today I get to share about the necklaces trip to Norway to spend some time with my dear friend Liv!!!
1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small village called Bø in Norway, together with my parents and my 4 older siblings.

2. Describe your personal Style.
My personal style varies a lot. From sporty casual, sporty to stylish lady with a little twist. I like to do my own thing and mix different styles. I also have a passion for zebra stripes, and black and white. For instance mix a sporty style with a hat and a blazer. :)

3. If you had to be trapped in a TV show for one month which show would you choose? Why?
. I would love to be trapped in the Seinfeld show! I love the show and the humour and I think I have seen each episode! I still love to watch it :)

4. What do you do to relax?
I relax completely when I am at a sunny beach and read a good book. And if my friends are there and we play beach-volley, then everything is complete!

5.Describe your perfect Sunday.
perfect Sunday is like this: wake up, have a long good breakfast. Go for a run or bicycle in the sun. Then go to church in the evening and then hang out at a coffee shop afterwards :)

Now that we all know Liv a little bit better shall we take a look at her photos???

"I think the necklace is perfect to dress up an outfit. It is very stylish and cute, kind of old fashion. It looks very good on black. white and grey I think. "

Thank you so much Liv!!!! Right now the necklace is on its way to Australia to spend some time with another amazing lady. If you want to see the first exciting adventure the necklace went on go here.
I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday! ~ J.
p.s. feel free to leave comments and tell Liv how awesome she is ;)

Goooooood Morning...

This song just makes me want to sing, and learn how to tap dance! It instantly puts a smile on my face watching this clip. I love, love, love, love, love old movies (even silent films), weird? Maybe. But I decided to share my weird love with you guys today because it's Friday and I don't have anything exciting to blog about today.
It's a random post but I hope it just makes your Friday that much better :)
I'll try to take lots of pictures this weekend so I can have an exciting Weekend Wrap Up post on Monday!

Thrifting Finds

Last Friday my mom and I did some shopping in Porcupine Plains (a small town close to our cabin) I was sad to find that the antique store had shut down :( but happy to find that other little shops had opened up! (some even had antiques! yay!!) So these are just a few of my finds from the day.
Winking owl salt, and pepper shakers!

another owl

This one creeps me out but the lady noticed I liked owls and gave it to me for $2. So I took it anyways :)
I hope you all have a great Thursday!!! ~ J
